What’s A Squeeze Page?
If you are interested in a fast way to set up a lead generation tool, you’ll want to get a Squeeze Page up and running right away. A squeeze page is a simple website that contains information that would be of interest to your target audience.
A compelling message on the page is what gets the reader to supply their name and email address in exchange for the free information you are offering.
If you have not yet set up a blog, but want an effective lead generation strategy I highly recommend the use of a squeeze page. They are easy to set up and you can begin to generate leads very quickly.
Here’s a sample squeeze page that I use to appeal to employees that are searching for a way to start their own businesses so they can ultimately leave their jobs. The title of this webpage is The Cubicle Escape Plan and it’s been very effective in getting people to enter their name and email address because they can relate to the message in my video.
If you are camera shy and don’t want to record a video, you can instead set up a page that only uses words. The choice is yours and you may want to experiment to see whether you have better success with a video or just words on your page. Set up a couple of different pages and track the number of visitors to see whether the video or “words only” page performs best.
How To Use A Squeeze Page
When designing your page, keep it simple. Appeal to the reader by using emotion. Remember, people buy things emotionally and then back it up with logic. Your message should gently press their hot buttons. You want to point out that you may have a solution to their pain or a way to solve their problem. You message should hint at the solution but stop short of providing all of the details.
Basically you’re saying, “I’ll give you the information if you’ll give me your name and email address.” The trick is to have a message that is so compelling that it makes them want the information bad enough that they’ll immediately enter their information.
Promoting Your Squeeze Page
One of the quickest and best ways to promote your squeeze page is by using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. I recently Tweeted a message that said “Another Monday! – Do you really want to be at your job? cubicleescapeplan.com.”
You can also post a similar message on Facebook. Get a few friends to Tweet a message or re-post a message on Facebook similar to “I think I’m on to something – check this out: www.yoursqueezepage.com“
Squeeze Page Templates
There are many great looking templates available and most are fairly inexpensive. I purchased a set of great looking templates that have a combination of video and “words only” designs. They are very attractive and have generated a lot of leads for me. They were also very easy to personalize and simple to install. If you are interested, here is the link to the Squeeze Page Templates that I use. I highly recommend them!
Now that you have learned this simple lead generation and online marketing strategy, put it to use and start getting leads.
All the best,
